Thoughts & Conversations in a Changing World

The time for rumination has passed…

t’s not time for a conversation. We’ve been trying that for decades. We need an actionable plan that provides equity in less than a year. There are lots of smart folks out there- we can do it. There have been countless books written on the subject by great minds. Break it down like we do in the corporate environment… It’s a project plan with milestones… We assign 5 people to project manage-focusing on communication, media, and stakeholder assessment. Then, we have the specialists- Some folks will handle adjustments to outdated & unfair laws and the justice system, some can champion law enforcement re-training/re-tasking, others will champion education & how our kids learn differently, due to racially-caused PTSD, some finance minds will handle consumer banking & black business, some folks will focus on psychological trauma & how to heal the black family & surrounding community, and some will oversee housing disparities. It’s all about root cause & process development. It wouldn’t take very long to come up with the best minds in these areas without emotional or political gamesmanship. Overarching project goals should be how to the above fit into reparation activities, incentivizing black folks to change, and how to get white folks to understand & accept that this massive lift will require sacrifice of their privilege. (Think Sesame Street PSAs…)Once we have a rock solid plan of action, we can force it into being. No need to march/boycott with no specific ask. (Stop killing us? They say- Yeah right, who’s gonna make me?) We are missing that- we’ve got justifiable outrage and that’s about all…See? I’m not the NAACP or a legal potentate! I’m not the smartest mind in change management. However, we all have something to offer this noble cause. Yeah, I’m mad, sad, and all of that- but I’m grateful Corporate America has taught me a few things- how to compartmentalize. I’m not here for any more kumbayas or prayer breakfasts. I’m sitting on ready to see if leaders are going to lead and I’m ready to help. peace & love.
