Chaos in the U.S.

I’ve been traveling for the past couple weeks, but I’ve definitely kept abreast of the goings on in America.  People have stopped me on the street asking if the U.S. President is as big of an idiot as they think he is.  (I answered in the affirmative). I’ve also received questions about my feelings regarding the riots at the Capitol after the current President gave implicit instructions for folks to act like his loss was the white supremacist version of a Jihad.

Why did folks break into the Capitol building and destroy/steal/act a fool?  Welp, according to my Conservative FB friends, the election was rigged & stolen; the 75 million folks who voted for the incumbent felt their votes should have counted for more than those who actually voted; they believe Democratic voters were given incorrect information by the media and others so they voted for the wrong person.  The Americans who didn’t vote for their candidate are “sheep” and only they understand the truth.  In addition, I’ve heard that the election was stolen, because votes weren’t counted properly- even after 4 re-counts in some states.  Again, the media and the liberal Democrats lurked somewhere in the election and changed the votes.  To add to their dismay- even though facts proved otherwise & despite several failed court challenges- the electoral college, Vice-President, and the Congress should have invalidated the Presidential election and they deserved a “do-over.”  Well darn.

So, based on what I’ve seen in videos of folks at the Capitol on that fated day, they were staging “a revolution” to force the country to do what these 75 million want.  (Note, there are 330 million American citizens and these folks are in the minority.)  Interesting.

America was founded on sedition, trickery, and general chicanery, if your recall your history lessons.  At the bedrock of all of this was enslaving (mostly) African individuals in birthright slavery.  So, for those of you who think the U.S. is some magnanimous, wunderkind- no, that’s not the truth, in fact.  But let’s get back to our friends at the Capitol.

These folks were inciting riot & generally attempted to overthrow the U.S. government.  We call that domestic terrorism, since the parties involved were by in large American citizens.  The dictionary defines it as “the committing of terrorist acts in the perpetrator’s own country against their fellow citizens.”  Yepper, that’s what happened last week…  Now, folks are on the “no-fly” list, getting arrested, and losing their jobs.

Seriously, what did they think was gonna happen?  They should have been shot and/or arrested on the grounds of the Capitol, just like others who have attempted the same.  Oh, I forgot- this was all the incumbent President’s idea and there were no National Guard or appropriate law enforcement on the scene.  That’s an interesting coincidence, no law enforcement when you had at least 2 weeks notice there was gonna be a rally/protest & likely unrest…

In serious summary- I don’t understand white privilege and probably never will.  The losing side of this Presidential election sincerely believes because they are upset, they should be able to riot & commit domestic terrorism.  Wow.

These were the same folks who said Black Lives Matter was a farce and later, a terrorist group.  Black folks are the most mistreated ethnic group in America, with Native Americans running a very close second, in my opinion.  The fact that our peaceful protests are met with militarized force, tear gas, and rubber bullets for protesting literally getting killed in cold blood by police, all while folks are storming the Capitol because they are mad they didn’t win an election is an inconsistent narrative at best.

I remember supporters of the losing party railing about how BLM isn’t doing anything to help themselves by protesting, they should have gone home and done things “the right way within the law.”  Why not take their own advice?

Welp, I posit that they don’t think these two things are the same.  The chaos they’re trying to cause is built on faulty assumptions, one of which white supremacy plays a large role.  I keep seeing posts about the first amendment- freedom of speech… I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but free speech doesn’t have anything to do with breaking into Federal buildings, threatening elected officials, and planting bombs.

Yes, Bubba and Brenda should lose their flying privileges, their businesses, their jobs, and their freedom.  Law & order surely is upheld when brown people do something wrong, let’s run a test to see if justice really is blind… I won’t hold my breath.
